On 19 October 2009, Cyriva held a brand new event that was none like others. This event was called the ‘Trivia Challenge’, where participants get exposed to questions that were not usually seen in their daily life and have to face challenges in different stage with their partner. There were 4 stages that participants had to pass through and there were different challenges in different stages.
The first stage was a warm up round, whereby participants will be exposed to the types of question that was going to be asked throughout the event. What the participants have to do is to move to the boxes that best represented their answer. The participants started to get warmed up and if you were there, you could see how enthusiastic the participants were. Surprisingly after all the questions, all the participants made it through to the second stage.
The second stage was about mental challenge. Participants were tested on their memory skills by having to memorise a set of colours and the name of the colours. To increase the challenge, they were given 3 minutes to do so and it was in a low light condition. After memorising, they had to tell the game master what the game master requested for and then answer a question to move on to the next stage. All the teams struggled as it was really a tough challenge to them. Despite all the stress, all teams managed to move on to the next stage except for two teams.

The third stage is all about getting physical. Participants are tied up together with their partner and have to go through obstacles to get to the other side so as to find the key to the right envelope. When they managed to unlock the lock and found their question, they had to answer it correctly to move on to the next round. As this was a filtering round, only five teams made it successfully to the next round.
Teams struggling to get across the obstacles
The fourth and final stage is all about ‘sabo-ing’. What it means is that each participant will be pulling their buddy down. In this stage, participants are tied up together with their buddies and they have to play a game of ‘Dog & Bone’. With their buddy being tied up together with them, it was sure a tough time trying to steal the bone from the middle. When they got the bone or successful tag another team who got the bone, they will be given a question. A correct answer will earn them one point and the team with the highest points wins.
Team members being ‘punished’ for giving the wrong answer
All the teams struggled as their have a common aim, getting the ZEN Stone MP3 top prize. It was like being in a battle field where nothing else matter but only getting the bone. After the challenge, one group immerged as a winner. They are awarded a ZEN Stone MP3 each and the runner ups got movie vouchers and Zingrill vouchers respectively. Congrats to the teams.
